Drone Inspections for Flat Roofs
The Smarter Way to Inspect Commercial & Industrial Roofs
Traditional flat roof inspections mean boots on the membrane, ladders against the parapet, and crews walking surfaces that were never meant for foot traffic. Every inspection adds wear. Every inspection carries risk.
Videl’s drone-assisted inspections capture your entire roof in a fraction of the time, with none of the exposure. Aerial imagery and thermal scans feed directly into your Roof Condition Report, giving property managers and owners the documentation they need to plan and budget.
Why Drone Roof Inspection
Safer, Faster, and More Thorough Roof Inspection
Nothing touches the membrane
A walked inspection adds wear to the surface you’re trying to protect. A drone doesn’t.
Two hours (or less) to inspect your roof
What used to mean a half-day on a 50,000 sq ft roof now takes a single morning, weather permitting.
Tenants never know we’re there
No lift trucks in the loading bay. No interior access. No noise complaints from the third floor.
Angles a walked inspection misses
Parapet caps, drain interiors, HVAC curbs, the back side of every penetration. The drone sees them all.
Documented evidence for you to keep
Every defect is tagged, dated, and photographed at resolution your insurer and capital planner can actually use.
Thermal imaging to understand everything
One flight captures both visual and infrared. No second visit, no second invoice.
What You Receive
Documentation for Your Capital Planner and Insurer
Everything below is included in your drone roof inspection at no extra cost.
2D Overhead Roof Map

Aerial Video Flyover
Smooth 4K video of your entire roof, ideal for sharing with stakeholders, contractors, or insurance adjusters who need to see the full picture without flying up there.
Thermal Mapping
Infrared imaging that reveals trapped moisture, heat loss, and hidden membrane damage invisible to the naked eye and standard aerial photography.
High-Res Images
Crystal-clear photos of every square foot of your roof, including parapet caps, drain interiors, HVAC curbs, and the top side of every penetration.
Defect Map Tagging
Every issue we spot — ponding, blistering, seam separation, membrane damage, flashing failures — pinned to its exact location.
Raw Imagery Archive
Full access to every original photo and video file from the inspection, yours to keep, share with contractors, or use as a baseline for next year.

What types of roofs do you inspect with drones?
Flat and low-slope commercial and industrial roofs across Ontario. That includes single-ply membranes (TPO, PVC, EPDM), modified bitumen, built-up roofs, and metal. If your building has a flat roof, we can inspect it.
How long does a drone roof inspection take?
A single-building inspection takes two hours or less on site, weather permitting. A 50,000 sq ft roof that used to mean a half-day walked inspection now takes a single morning. Larger portfolios and multi-building sites are scheduled across multiple flights.
How much does a drone roof inspection cost?
Pricing depends on roof size, site complexity, and how many buildings are in scope. Most single-building inspections are quoted flat. Contact us with your address and approximate square footage and we’ll send a quote the same day.
What do I receive after the inspection?
High-resolution aerial imagery of your entire roof, a written Roof Condition Report with defects tagged and photographed, and recommended next steps for repair, maintenance, or capital planning. Everything is documented at a resolution your insurer and capital planner can actually use.
Will the inspection disrupt my tenants or operations?
No. The drone operates from outside the building. No lift trucks in the loading bay, no interior access, and no need to give our crew roof access. By the time we’re done, your tenants won’t ever know we were there.
What happens if weather cancels the inspection?
We reschedule at no extra cost. Drone flights require safe wind, visibility, and precipitation conditions, and we monitor the forecast in the days leading up to every scheduled inspection. If we can’t fly safely, we don’t fly.
